Allevia has over the years developed a comprehensive range of policies which detail our position on certain matters relating to administrative practice and service delivery to our clients.
These policies have been regularly reviewed and updated in keeping with our policies and procedures on policy development and maintenance. Special thanks goes to the staff, clients, families, and external agency personnel who have actively contributed to the development, review and enhancement of all Allevia policies and procedures.
To keep our large number of policies accessible, the organisation now has six (6) separate policy manuals, which collectively make up the complete set of policies and procedures. These Manuals are:
- The General Services Policies and Procedures Manual – which applies generally across all of the organisation’s services.
- The Working with Children and Young People Policies and Procedures Manual – designed to cover the requirements of the Out-of-Home Care Standards and guide staff working with children and young people.
- The Personnel Handbook – containing employee specific policies and procedures.
- The Management Committee Policies and Procedures Manual – developed to detail the procedures of governance.
- The HACC Program Policies and Procedures Manual.
- The Bankstown Occasional Care Policies and Procedures Manual.
As legislation and standards change and as the needs of the organisation change, new policies will be developed and existing policies will be reviewed and updated to ensure they continue to meet legislated guidelines, standards, funding requirements, client needs, employee needs and contribute to the improvement of service delivery.
It is the responsibility of each and every employee to make themselves familiar with these manuals and to use them as a reference guide in their daily work practices.
We welcome feedback from the clients and their support groups and of course from staff about these policies and their implementation.
